Agricultural Minister István Nagy announced that the government would be banning the export of all grains after prices began to rise on the commodities exchange.

As of today, the government is banning all grain exports due to price increases caused by the Russian war against Ukraine.

-Minister Nagy told RTL News on Friday. A government decree to this effect would be issued on Friday, he said.

Ukraine is one of the world’s largest exporters of grain, and as a result of the Russian attack on the country last week, the price of wheat has risen to highs not seen in the past 14 years.

The price of cooking oil is also expected to rise because of the war, as Ukraine is the world’s largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil.
