Influencing Elections in This Region is Normal, Says Szijjártó

As previously reported, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó (pictured) earlier told a Financial Times reporter his belief that the United States was preparing to intervene in Hungary’s Parliamentary elections next year.

American news channel CNN inquired as to exactly what Szijjártó meant by this statement, with the Foreign Minister responding,

It is customary in this region to try to influence events from both the East and the West.

Szijjártó then said that the Hungarian government, as a “right-wing, conservative, Christian government,” disputed the liberal “mainstream” of the European Union, and had no interest in the EU becoming an “United States of Europe,” but an alliance of strong nation states.

Péter Szijjártó also stated that Hungary’s vaccination rate is now 70%, which he thinks will continue to increase.
