The prime ministerial candidate for the Hungarian opposition, Péter Márki-Zay, has selected Péter Zaránd to be his campaign manager for next year’s Parliamentary elections. Zaránd confirmed the information to Telex, but did not comment beyond stating that his work and the planning of the campaign were moving swiftly along.
Zaránd was previously Momentum’s campaign manager for Momentum, but he left the party in 2018. In 2019, he led the campaign of mayoral candidate Róbert Puzsér.
By selecting Zaránd, Márki-Zay did not choose a campaign leader from among the six party coalition supporting him, but asked someone who had not worked with them.
