Many were amazed at the amount of support that united opposition leader Péter Márki-Zay received from young people in the primary election held this month, according to a new 444 video.
The Hódmezővásárhely mayor has been hyped by influencers and by commenters on YouTube and Reddit, and has even built up a campaign team based on this support.
In addition, a youth branch of his Everybody’s Hungary Movement has formed of teens and people in their 20s, mostly composed of those who haven’t been interested in politics or didn’t feel that there were any politicians worth supporting. They see Márki-Zay as an outsider, honest, mortal and fallible, someone who avoids clichés and dares to say what other politicians won’t.
